BEGINNER CLASS
Every Tuesday from 6:30-8:30pm
Course Duration: 10-Weeks (April 15 - June 17)
Location: SFIAC
Instructor: Chiara
Course Description: This level is ideal for students who have completed Beginner 1 or have some basic knowledge of Italian. In this course, you will expand your vocabulary and learn to navigate common everyday situations, such as ordering food at a café, asking for directions, and describing your daily routine. You will practice using regular and irregular verbs in the present tense, definite and indefinite articles, and simple sentence structures. By the end of the course, you will be able to introduce yourself more confidently, ask and answer simple questions, and engage in short conversations.
ELEMENTARE CLASS
Every Thursday from 6:30-8:30pm
Course Duration: 10-Weeks (April 17 - June 19)

Instructor: Chiara
Course Description: If you are comfortable speaking in the present, past (passato prossimo), and imperfect (imperfetto) tenses and can hold basic conversations about daily life, this course is for you. This class will help you refine your communication skills by introducing the future tense (futuro semplice) and expressions for making plans, giving advice, and making polite requests. You will also improve your listening and speaking abilities by discussing travel experiences, cultural traditions, and hypothetical situations. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to express opinions more clearly and engage in longer, more structured conversations in Italian.
Instructor Biography
Chiara
Raised in a small countryside town in Brescia, near Milan, Chiara holds a bachelor's degree in Languages and Communication from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Brescia (2020) and also studied at the Universidad de Murcia, Spain.
Her passion for improving her language skills and love for traveling led her to move to the U.S., where she explored more than 25 states but fell in love with California, particularly, San Francisco. Since becoming an Italian teacher, she has found it to be the most fulfilling and rewarding job and she is excited to continue sharing her language and culture.
She loves to spend time with her partner, Luke, and her cat, Bessie. She loves doing ceramics, cooking Italian dishes, trying international cuisines, hiking, taking photographs and spending time by the ocean.
