Who We Are 

Più che cultura. Italianità 

We are the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club Foundation—the nonprofit branch of the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club. Rooted in the legacy of Italian immigrants who helped shape San Francisco, we exist to honor their contributions by keeping our culture, traditions, and pride alive in North Beach. Through member engagement and community investment, we nurture Italian culture, commerce, and connection.

For over a century, we have brought together families, friends, and visitors, ensuring our community’s Italian culture and heritage continues to thrive for generations to come.

• We are the Club’s nonprofit Foundation and fundraising arm. We strengthen the SFIAC experience for its 1000 members and the wider community alike through facility improvements and engagement opportunities.

• We are the heart of San Francisco’s historic Little Italy. Located in the iconic North Beach district, our Club and Foundation bring people together in celebration of Italian-American culture, history, and hospitality. 

• We blend tradition with vision. From Statuto Race to Festa Italiana, we honor our roots by allowing ancestry and tradition to set the table for future generations and ways of connecting.

• We drive evolution, not just nostalgia. Our investments in modern renaissance, local business, and real estate help ensure North Beach isn’t just remembered; it’s reimagined.

The North Beach Renaissance is underway as we protect its Italian soul. 

We are building a North Beach that swells with Italian pride—where culture is lived, not just remembered. Through unforgettable cultural events, community-centered investments, and intergenerational leadership, we’re shaping a future where our Club is the heart of Little Italy and the next generation carries our heritage forward with pride and purpose.

Looking ahead to the next five years, we will work towards: 

• Enhancing (and potentially expanding) the Club’s facilities to benefit members and the greater community. 

• Uplifting North Beach as San Francisco’s Little Italy with increased signage, neighborhood improvements, and support for local merchants and restaurateurs. 

• Supporting Italian youth and young adults with leadership, mentorship, and cultural opportunities and encouraging pathways to Club membership and Foundation involvement.
